Concrete Foundations & Footings
Strong foundations that support your structures for decades to come.

Why Foundations Matter
Your foundation is the most critical part of any structure. It supports everything above it and transfers the weight down to the soil. A poorly built foundation leads to cracked walls, uneven floors, and structural problems that cost thousands to repair. That is why getting it right from the start is so important.
We have been installing concrete foundations and footings in Davis, CA since 2024. Whether you are building a new home addition, garage, shed, or retaining wall, we make sure your foundation is engineered correctly and built to local building codes.
Types of Foundations We Build
Different structures require different foundation types. Here are the most common ones we install for residential projects:
- Slab-on-grade foundations: A single layer of concrete poured directly on the ground, commonly used for garages and additions
- Stem wall foundations: Concrete footings with vertical walls that support the structure above grade
- Pier and beam foundations: Concrete piers with wooden beams, often used for elevated structures or uneven terrain
- Footings for retaining walls: Deep concrete bases that anchor walls and prevent movement
- Deck and patio footings: Individual concrete pads or piers that support posts and beams
We work with structural engineers and follow local building codes to ensure your foundation meets all safety and load-bearing requirements.
The Foundation Installation Process
Building a foundation requires careful planning and execution. We start by evaluating your soil conditions and determining the best foundation type for your project. Then we excavate to the proper depth, build forms to hold the concrete, and install rebar for reinforcement.
For footings, we dig trenches below the frost line to prevent frost heave and settling. We make sure the bottom of the trench is level and compacted before pouring. After the concrete is poured, it needs time to cure and gain full strength before you can build on top of it. Rushing this process leads to problems down the road, so we follow proper curing times and techniques.
Local Soil Conditions and Building Codes
Davis has specific soil types and building codes that affect foundation design. Some areas have expansive clay soils that swell when wet and shrink when dry, which can cause foundation movement. We account for these conditions by adjusting footing depth, using proper reinforcement, and ensuring good drainage around the foundation.
We also handle all necessary permits and inspections for foundation work. Building inspectors check the excavation, rebar placement, and concrete pour to make sure everything meets code. We coordinate with inspectors to keep your project on schedule. If you need other concrete work like slabs and flatwork or retaining walls, we can handle that too as part of the same project.
